Deliberate Escape

the unknown

The unknown is often what fears us the most.

If we could look ahead into the future of the unknownthere might be a chance to avoid some degree of panic and anxiety. Since that is not the case, and we do not have a window into the future, the only choice is to rest in our limited knowledge of what lies ahead. Then hope and pray that the journey, albeit foreign, will not overcome us, but somehow sustain us until we're at the other end.

In times like this, the 23rd Psalm comes to mind. I had to memorize it in my third grade Sunday School class with Mr. Carlsen.

The Lord is my shepherd: He leads me, He restores my soul, He is with me, He comforts me, goodness and mercy follow me and, I dwell in His house, forever.

As I think of those struggling today, those that do not know what lies ahead, I can only pray for them asking, that they will find the strength to endure the journey of the unknown, have faith that holds them up in their darkest moments, and hope for a future that is bright.

I pray dear, God.
